Downtown Fernandina Beach has paid parking in the core historic district — roughly on-street spaces and surface lots from Ash Street to Alachua Street and Front Street to 8th Street — where parking is enforced and metered at about $2 per hour (first 20 minutes free) during posted hours (typically Monday–Saturday 10 a.m.–8 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.–6 p.m.). Residents can register for up to two free annual parking permits per household, and those living within the paid zone may park up to four (on-street) or eight (surface lots) hours free each day before hourly charges apply; non-resident permits and extended options are available for a fee.
Outside the paid zone, most street parking and many smaller lots around the town remain free, though some areas have time limits or other posted restrictions, so always check signs when you park.
